Professional Development for Teachers of Art in Queensland schools
Traditional professional development opportunities for teachers in Brisbane are method-based. They may have great teachers, but at their core they are teaching you an artistic skill, not how to apply it in the classroom context.
Our professional development classes are different. We are not affiliated with any supplier, and all workshops are taught by teachers with 10-20 years within the Queensland schooling system.
Each workshop aims to do the following:
1. Teach a skill that can be turned into multiple lessons
2. Help you turn that skill into an effective lesson plan for your students
3. Support you to plan and manage art resources in the classroom
4. Give you practical tips and tool-kits that will help you develop fantastic classes that build the skills of your students.
We are based in 17 Mile Rocks and keep the sessions small to maximise engagement. Classes include printed resources, and morning tea or lunch as appropriate.
You can see our current workshops below we are in pilot phase so only have 1-2 active at any one point.
